Department of Industrial Engineering
World-Famous Prof. Dr. Silvano Martello Gave A Seminar at Our University
Prof. Dr. Martello has authored two important reference books on popular optimization topics such as Knapsack and Assignment Problems, and published about 150 papers in international journals. His main research focus is combinatorial optimization, with special emphasis on packing, routing and scheduling problems. The subject of his talk comprised a new packing problem encountered in a state-of-the-art wireless telecommunications standard and the corresponding solution approaches developed in an applied research project. The talk attracted many academicians and students in Izmir. After his seminar in our university, Prof. Dr. Martello attended ECCO 2012 Conference in Antalya, which is organized by IEU Industrial Systems Engineering department and METU.
